Accompanied outings

Our  mountain guides are professional leaders who care deeply for the region's environment. They can offer you a range of outdoor activities to discover the riches and wonders of our territory in all seasons.

What is an "Accompagnateur en Moyenne Montagne"?

These Accompagnateurs are mountain guides who are qualified to lead and partner clients of all levels of ability on walks and other outings in the outdoors, especially in mountainous terrain. These outings include a wide range of summer and winter activities - other than some technically very demanding ones, such as rock climbing and ice wall climbing (for which guides with more specific qualifications are available).

Why choose an Accompagnateur?

Accompagnateurs use procedures and techniques to progress safely and with ease over different types of terrain. They anticipate potential hazards and they take appropriate decisions if unforeseen circumstances arise. They know how to assist anyone who has an accident and how to summons mountain rescue teams.

Accompagnateurs plan outings in accordance with the specific needs and wishes of each group (including school journey parties). They assess the physical and mental capacities of members of their parties, and they adapt the nature and difficulty of the activity accordingly. They rest prepared to do this from the start to the finish of the outing.

Accompagnateurs have an extensive knowledge of the region's fauna, flora, geology, climate, history, wildlife habitat, geography and toponymy. They draw upon that knowledge to explain to their clients the different elements of the mountain environment, using precise and appropriate vocabulary.
